Hawk Conservancy visit
On Wednesday the students visited the Hawk Conservancy in Andover, Hampshire. The students had the opportunity to explore the site and see the wide variety of birds of prey on show. We saw a flying demonstration of hawks and owls; there were kites, vultures and eagles, and we even got to hold some of the birds.
As well as all that the students had a challenge to complete. This revolved around the strange vocabulary, phrases and idioms that involve birds in use in the English language.
A duck out of water...
Cold Turkey
Bird's eye view
To spread one's wings
At the demonstration - hold onto your hats!
Holding the hawks....
Some of what we saw while exploring....
A great day was had by all. Thank you very much to the Hawk Conservancy!
