Winchester in Summer

Our Beautiful Campus Winchester is looking wonderful this summer, and our campus is an inspiring place to learn and make new friends. Some of the buildings we use have been here for more than 600 years - including the hall in which we eat. It is amazing to think of the illustrious figures throughout history who have walked the same cobbles, sat on the same benches and played sport on the same fields.

Nearing the End of a Wonderful Winchester Week

Looking back on the past five days, it's difficult to believe that our students could have packed so much into such a short amount of time. They've explored both Portsmouth and London, excelled in their academic classes and taken part in activities ranging from traditional Scottish dance to a Winchester special of the popular TV programme Britain's Got Talent. All of the students have shown themselves to be incredibly creative and engaging individuals who really know how to have fun. Coming Together for Charity

Winchester Gives Back For nearly a decade, Discovery Summer has been working in conjunction with Action Aid to support the Kola Tree Community Schools Project in Sierra Leone. So far, we have funded the construction of the Community Primary School and Junior High School in Freetown, and as a result more than 600 children now have access to education in their community. These projects rely on fundraising from our various summer courses. One vital aspect of this is the Charity Day we host at Winchester every summer. On Friday our campus was transformed into a traditional British summer fair, complete with a raffle, coconut shy and cake decorating stall. Our diverse student body took the opportunity to showcase activities and games from around the world, incorporating less traditional stalls such as a beautiful origami station and a very popular henna stand.
