IELTS

IELTS Exam Preparation The IELTS exam, or the International English Language Testing System, is a test of English proficiency which is required by many English-speaking schools, universities and workplaces around the world. IELTS measures students' reading, writing, listening and speaking skills, and assesses their ability to communicate for work, study or life in Anglophone countries. This year we have a number students going to Oxford to sit an IELTS exam, and our experienced tutor has been intensively preparing all students in Major and Minor classes by helping them to understand what examiners are looking for in the written paper and how to avoid mistakes commonly made in the listening paper. Working in small groups and alone, students have been guided through a number of example questions and past papers, with model answers and marked scripts forming a key part of the weekly programme.

Winchester in Summer

Our Beautiful Campus Winchester is looking wonderful this summer, and our campus is an inspiring place to learn and make new friends. Some of the buildings we use have been here for more than 600 years - including the hall in which we eat. It is amazing to think of the illustrious figures throughout history who have walked the same cobbles, sat on the same benches and played sport on the same fields.

Farewell from Winchester 2017 Another wonderful summer of Discovery Summer Winchester drew to a close today, with our Week 3 students departing. The whole experience has been truly unforgettable, and it will be hard to leave behind some of the many new international friendships which have been formed here. Whether it has been during the Academic programme, the afternoon and evening activities, or on excursion, new memories have been created which will prove incredibly formative for all who were present at Winchester this summer. Our Course Director Francesco spoke to all our students yesterday: "You don’t need to be super intelligent, you don’t need to a genius..You only need to be creative, to use your passions...Your passions, and your dreams will make you unique, will mark the difference between you and other people. And with these passions, and these dreams, you will transform the world."
