London Excursion

East London Excursion

For the first time this year we split our last London excursion and the students were offered a choice to either visit the British Museum or visit Whitechapel Art Gallery and then take a tour of the famous Brick Lane. This is the first time we have ever taken our students to East London and it was an all round success!

On Friday afternoon our activities focused on East London and the youth culture that is so dominant there. We had activities based around Graffiti and Banksy where students had to design their own mural and decide on the message they wanted to portray, and also on London Music Culture where students made their own music video. The London Olympics are still fresh in all our minds and were hosted in Stratford, East London where the students were taken in the late afternoon to enjoy the Westfield Centre and it's view of the Olympic Park. Because of this, we also had a Mini-Olympics with some unusual events.

On Saturday some of our students went to the British Museum which has a wonderful selection of art and sculpture from throughout history and across the world.

The students on our East London trip were shown around Brick Lane, the famous street in London known for it's vintage style, street food and graffiti.
