Afternoon Multi-Activity: Stopmotion Animation

Making Your Modelling Come Alive

Yesterday the students were treated to a fantastic afternoon activity courtesy of our Activity Leader Bella. She provided a brief history of stopmotion animation, which is the artistic process of making any object appear alive and telling a story through a series of photographs put together to make a film.

The students were split into three groups, each of which devised their own brief storylines. They then spent some time making their props, and then headed outdoors to get animating!

In the final product, photos are shown at a rate of twelve per second, making the series of photographs look like a moving picture.
