Celebrating the Week's Success at Winchester College

Presenting Winchester's Finest

Sunday afternoons are without a doubt the highlight of the week here at Discovery Summer Winchester. After a busy week of forging friendships and giving their all in both classes and activities, we believe the students are very deserving of some recognition and praise.

Sunday afternoon presentations are split into two parts. First, the students present their work from each of their academic majors. We were blown away by the achievement and progress shown by the students in Economics, Digital Photography, Advanced Exam Skills, Web Design, Film Making and Drama.

The second half of the presentations was dedicated to Winchester's renowned social and academic awards ceremony. Our Course Director Kevin presented the certificates and prizes for academic excellence in each of our majors and minors before handing out the prestigious wristband awards for social achievement. Walking out to deafening music and applause, the winners all looked over the moon to have their success celebrated by their teachers and new Discovery friends.

 Here is a student presenting the website she has made over the last week, which showcases her impressive portfolio of artwork and some of the pieces by other artists that have inspired her.

 Our Advanced Exam Skills showed us how they have used the survey data they collected themselves in Winchester city centre to improve their skills in creating and presenting interesting statistics.

 As usual, the Drama class provided a show-stopping finale to the academic presentations. With inspiration being drawn anywhere from Ancient Greece to our early simian ancestors, the students' attempts at treading the boards left us completely bowled over.
