College Tour, Punting and Sightseeing
Today's tour to Oxford began with a guided tour of the prestigious Magdalen College, with a recent Oxford graduate giving an insight into life at university as well as a history of the beautiful college. Next a punting tour through Oxford's leafy meadows was made even more enjoyable with the sun shining on the tranquil river. The students learned about the history and culture of this university city from their guide. Lunch in Christ Church Meadows was followed by a walking tour of the city's main sites, including Merton college, the Bodleian library and the famous Bridge of Sighs. The day finished with the students having free time to explore the cobbled streets of the city and doing some all-important shopping.
The students enjoyed a sun-dappled punting tour through Oxford meadows, a perfect chance to relax and learn about the quirky traditions of the city.
Students were given a tour of the historic sites of the city, including the famous Bodleian library, which holds every book published in the United Kingdom.
The famous 'dreaming spires' of Oxford University. Many students were inspired by the grandeur of the colleges and thought perhaps one day they themselves would grace the courts and cloisters as Oxford students.
Some students learned how to steer and guide the punt downstream, encouraged by their friends.
