First Bridge loading test

This above link is a video of the first loading test of one team's bamboo bridge. The units being read out were actually 'lb' (pounds) as a button on the force meter got pressed accidentally, but the maximum reading of 70 lb still equates to just over 31 kg! This is still a design in progress, as the teams haven't joined the different load bearing arches yet. The bridge eventually began to fail when the tape stabilising one of the bridge feet failed, but this type of structural failure is exactly what the team members are looking for in searching for ways to improve their design.
