London Activities

A Rather British Afternoon

On Friday all of our multi-activities were based around our visit to London this weekend. We are going to the London Galleries and also taking in the sights of Parliament Square and Buckingham Palace. To prepare our multi-activities included:

 British Music Culture where students were taken through decades of British pop music and its influence on society both nationally and internationally.

 British Fashion Culture in which students had to research and reproduce some of the most famous iconic images.

 British Art where students looked through Turner, Lowry, Warhol, Damien Hirst and Banksy to see how Art has changed before creating their own work emulating one of the styles.

 British Sports where students were quizzed in A Question Of Sport followed by actual sport.

And because we will be passing the Houses of Parliment we had Famous Speeches in which students watched clips of some of the most famous speeches and tried to identify what made them so momentous before trying to write their own.
