Charity Day at Winchester - The Kola Tree Project

The Kola Tree Project has raised a lot of money in past years across all Discovery Summer centres. Throughout the years, dedicated charity days helped construct two schools in a small community in Sierra Leone. Partnered with ActionAid, Discovery Summer has helped make a difference to the children of the Kola Tree Project.

Winchester had a wonderful day yesterday and despite the terrible weather, the staff and students were in high spirits to help raise funds for books, equipment and scholarships.

Our Business Studies teacher was keen to get involved and challenged the students to "Beat Mike at chess in 2 minutes". Many students came close but very few defeated our grand champion. Just one of many exciting challenges on offer at our Charity Day.

As the event unfolded, students competed to have the honour of drenching our Course Director in water...very cold water.

Some of our staff went the extra mile for charity.

Our Student Hosts were willing to brace the freezing buckets of water in aid of the Kola Tree Project. Great participation from everyone! Thank you to all who donated and joined us for our fun filled Charity Day. We can't wait for next year!
